3 Reasons Why 2020 Is the Year Of The Customer

In certain cultures, every year is celebrated as if it were represented by a certain animal. 2020 is the year of the mouse, 2019 was the year of the pig, etc. They dedicate and theme celebrations around the certain animal when ringing in the new year.

Certain cultures celebrate every year as if it represented a certain animal. However, in other cultures, there’s a certain animal that’s been overlooked for quite some time: the customer. The customer leaves the burrows of their home to go out into the world and verbally abuse minimum wage workers. However, not every customer is the screeching short-haired middle-aged woman yelling at a cashier over expired coupons. Some customers are respectful and these ones who don’t cause issues should be celebrated with their own year.

3. Customers Provide Entertainment

Television is
expensive, the millions of different streaming services are getting expensive.
It’s hard to find affordable entertainment anymore. Fortunately, customers
provide entertainment for free. Those who have thicker skins can have riveting
internal dialogues as they’re facing down pure evil from someone who is bully
their way into twenty cents off a can of beans.

2. Customers Give Us Purpose

Sometimes all
we want is a purpose. Even if it’s just taking an hour to fold clothes on a
display, then watching customers rummage through it minutes later. However,
that gives us a sense of purpose. It also gives us an ulcer, but at least we
know we wake up every day ready to do something meaningful with our lives.

1. Customers = Income

Let’s be
honest, people don’t get jobs because they actually want to wake up early every
morning just to help people. However, we put on a fake smile every day because
we know, without them, we would be living in cardboard boxes on the side of the
road. Customers are the reason we make bad financial decisions and waste an
entire paycheck on fast food instead of learning how to cook and saving money.

2020 is the
year of the customer. They can continue to do what they do because we enable
them.
