A Wicked Little Wine Walk in the Reno Riverwalk

October Wine Walk supports Sheep Dip Nevada

Help support the Sheep Dip Nevada and the Reno Riverwalk District during the Wicked Little Wine Walk, on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., a perfect occasion to dress up in your most spirited costumes and show your appreciation for community, and wine.

It’s not only the love of your favorite red or white wine worth celebrating this October, but it’s also time to show your support for your favorite charity. Each month portions of the proceeds for the Reno Wine Walk benefit local charitable organizations. In over six years the event organizers have donated more than $100,000 to local non-profits.

This October the Riverwalk District’s monthly event will be supporting Sheep Dip Nevada a local non-profit group in Northern Nevada that stages a satirical revue each January to bring laughter to the audience and raise money for local charities. This annual fundraiser show is dedicated to exposing the follies and foibles of the Truckee Meadows in an evening of skits, songs and dance. Performers are all area locals (your neighbors) along with members of the media and even a few of our famous (and infamous) politicians. Their efforts help raise funds that support charitable activities in the Reno/Sparks and Greater Northern Nevada areas. And because Sheep Dip, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

The Wine Walk is a monthly event held on the third Saturday where you purchase a decorative wine glass for a $20 wine-tasting fee. With wine glass in hand and a valid photo ID, you’ll receive an ID bracelet, which allows you to sample wine at any of the 20-plus participating merchant locations. Many of the businesses hand paint each individual wine glass, which attendees get to take home. At the end of the event attendees enter to win over $800 in gift cards from all the participating merchants during a 5 p.m. raffle.
