With deep sadness, Evolve Bank & Trust announces Elizabeth “Betsy” Bohlen, Senior Vice President of Payment Processing, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, after a battle with cancer. Evolve extends its sincerest condolences to her family during this difficult time while also celebrating a life well lived.

“The Evolve family is saddened by the loss of our beloved Betsy,” said Scott Stafford, CEO & President of Evolve Bank & Trust. “She was a visionary and groundbreaking leader in the Payments Industry. Betsy’s drive and passion contributed to Evolve’s extraordinary growth in the last two years. I know her colleagues will remember her bold personality and, of course, the designer tennis shoes she wore that were the talk of every convention.”

Over the course of her almost 30-year career, Ms. Bohlen received numerous industry awards and accolades. She was most proud of her recognition from MasterCard for her role in the “Choose to Make a Difference” cause-marketing program and its influence on her hometown of Denver. Ms. Bohlen was also called upon frequently as a Payment Industry Speaker. Betsy’s engagements included in part, APEX (All Payments Expo), FISERV International Forum, ATMIA Annual Conference, IACOA, MWAA, WSAA, NAC (National ATM Council), Paythink, Strategic Leadership Forum (ETA), and Visa Forum.

“Betsy will leave a legacy behind in the Payments Industry,” said Scot Lenoir, President and Chief Executive of Evolve Bancorp, Inc. “She was deeply committed to Evolve’s success and had infectious energy and humor. We are grateful for the impact Betsy made.”

Ms. Bohlen was an active participant in several nonprofit organizations including Make a Wish Foundation and the Alzheimer Association. She is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren. Arrangements have not been announced.
