Larson Electronics Releases Power Transformer Substation, 75 kVA, 480V-208Y/120V AC, 25' SOOW

KEMP, Texas, April 24, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of a power transformer substation that converts 480V AC three-phase electrical current to three-phase 208Y/120V AC. This unit allows operators to safely tap into and distribute 208V and 120V power from generators and direct grid power.

The MPD-480.1P-50KVA-120.240-2X50A-2X30A-4X20A power transformer substation is ideal for indoor and outdoor use and is a fully potted transformer with a NEMA 3R load center. This unit comes with 25 feet of 2/4 SOOW line-in cord brings 480V three-phase power to the 100-amp 480V three-phase fused disconnect, which features three 100-amp time delay fuses protecting the 75 kVA transformer. The transformer converts 480V three-phase power to three-phase 208Y/120V AC.

Larson Electronics’ power transformer substation features a secondary side that feeds a 208Y/120 NEMA 3R 225-amp MLO panel, which contains six 50-amp 208V breakers protecting six 50-amp CS8269 and two 20-amp 120V breakers protecting two 20-amp GFCI duplex receptacles. All outlets on this unit are protected by waterproof hinged covers. The load assembly is mounted to the standard 2” by 2” by 1/8” square carbon steel tubing frame and the unit features forklift skid pockets and locking casters.

This unit has 1/8” metal side walls to prevent tampering with two 1/8” hinged doors providing access to the disconnect, breaker panel and receptacles. The transformer is grounded to the frame with a grounding lug that is provided. Suitable applications include construction sites, plant maintenance and turnarounds, and more.
