Male Infertility More Prevalent Than Many Couples Imagine, Says Reproductive Fertility Center

According to a new press statement from Reproductive Fertility Center, male infertility factor is surprisingly common.

Though many couples desire to conceive children, not all of them are actually able to; in fact, roughly 15 percent of all couples are infertile. While the problem is often assumed to be a women’s health issue, the truth is that men can also be the factor in a couple’s infertility. In fact, The Huffington Post reports that almost half of all infertile couples have a male-factor fertility issue. Dr. Peyman Saadat, of the Reproductive Fertility Center in West Hollywood, elaborates on this concern in a new statement to the press.

“Couples should understand that there are many potential causes of infertility for both men and women comments Dr. Saadat.  Male infertility is generally caused by a problem with sperm quality. A test called semen analysis can be done to determine if there are any issues with the motility, morphology or volume of the sperm, all of which have a direct impact on the ability to conceive.

In addition, there are potential signs of infertility, including pain, sexual dysfunction, swelling of the testicles, or even recurrent respiratory infections. “None of these symptoms are definitive markers of infertility,” comments Dr. Saadat. “The only sure sign of infertility is the inability to conceive.”

The good news for men and their partners is that just as there are many possible causes of infertility, so too are there many different solutions. Reproductive Fertility Center offers individualized treatment plans to couples struggling with infertility, including treatment aimed at women and men alike. Dr. Saadat and his team have helped countless people become the parents they were meant to be, regardless of the medical cause of the infertility.

“What ultimately matters is not the medical reason behind the problem,is , but that both members of the couple work together to find a solution and to receive the best medical guidance,” concludes Dr. Sadaat.
