Nov. 15: Jewish Community Housing Corporation to Host Free 'Best of Beethoven' Symphony Concert for Area Seniors and JCHC Residents

Adults 55+ are Invited to Special Afternoon of Music with New Jersey Symphony Orchestra at TSTI in South Orange

"Best of Beethoven concert" hosted by JCHC

Older adults from throughout Essex County are invited to attend a special performance of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, November 15 at 3:00 p.m. featuring the works of Ludwig von Beethoven. The private concert is being sponsored by the Jewish Community Housing Corporation of Metropolitan New Jersey (JCHC) for its residents as well as adults ages 55+, who are welcome to attend the performance at no charge with advance reservations. The event will be held at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel, 432 Scotland Road in South Orange.

This is the second time the NJSO is performing an exclusive concert for the non-profit organization and its guests, made possible through an endowment administered by the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest.

Holding the concert in the Township of South Orange Village has special significance for our organization, given that two of our senior citizen apartment buildings are located there, with a history dating back more than 25 years.

“Concerts such as this performance for seniors are at the heart of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra’s mission to connect with communities across New Jersey through live symphonic music,” said NJSO President & CEO Gabriel van Aalst. “It has been a privilege for the Orchestra to perform community concerts through a partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ that began more than 20 years ago, and we are indebted to the generous benefactors who have made this tradition possible.”

Harold Colton-Max, CEO of the JCHC said, “Holding the concert in the Township of South Orange Village has special significance for our organization, given that two of our senior citizen apartment buildings are located there, with a history dating back more than 25 years.”

Advance registration for the NJSO concert is required; tickets are available at Village Apartments of the Jewish Federation, one of the JCHC’s senior living communities in South Orange; to reserve a seat, email samanthad@jchcorp.org or call 973-763-0999.
