Over 1,000 Make-Up Artists Will Meet at Imats Toronto 2018
The International Make-Up Artist Trade Show will take place on Sept. 22 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center.
TORONTO, March 22, 2018 (Newswire.com) - The world’s largest celebration of make-up artistry will bring together professionals, students, educators, and companies in Toronto on Sept. 22 and 23. This year’s International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS) will display the best of the industry to analyse the latest trends in techniques and products. Donna Kelsey, School Director of Body Pro Academy, considers IMATS to be an emblematic event that any student in this field should attend.
Over 1,000 professionals will share their strategies to achieve perfect hand strokes, develop technical skills, and master colour selection and blending techniques. “The television and high-fashion make-up industry has secrets and tips to create flawless looks. IMATS is known for collecting the best examples and highlighting the work of new talent. Awarded professionals that have been recognized at the Oscars BAFTA, and Saturn ceremonies, participated in previous years. This year, two of their renowned speakers and presentations will be:
- Mimi Choi, presenting “Surreal Make-up Illusions”
- Thomas Surprenant, presenting “BDellium Tools”
This event also features two important competitions for students: The Make-Up Museum and the Battle of the Brushes. “We highly encourage our students, and any student in this field, to enter this competition for an opportunity to expose their talent in front of key influencers and companies,” suggested Kelsey.
Last year, the event received around 4,000 participants in only two days. This year they are expecting to go over that number.
