Penana Limited is proud to announce their recent achievements in Hong Kong ICT Awards 2015 and how they are revitalizing the online story showcasing and collaborative writing experience for young and aspiring writers around the world.

Penana Limited, an emerging internet startup company in web and mobile applications, announced that their social publication platform Penana (www.penana.com) has won the prestigious Best Life Style (Social, Communications & Media) Grand and Gold Awards in Hong Kong ICT Award 2015. Penana proved its social innovation in one of Hong Kong’s most important competitions for information and technology innovation, which is attracting many young and aspiring writers and readers around the world to join the creative and collaborative online community.

Thoughtful Design for Online Story Showcasing and Collaborative Publication

Being a social platform exclusively designed for story showcasing and collaboration, Penana enables users to form a group of 2 to 5 people to work on a collaborative story. There are many ingeniously designed features that make Penana a distinctive collaborative publication platform.

1. Collaboration Roles and Requests - Users can join as a Co-writer, Idea Contributor, or Beta Reader in a collaborative story by sending collaboration requests or invitations. When creating a new story, users can also signal whether their stories are seeking for collaborators.

2. Creative Writing Contests - Users can host and take part in creative writing contests up to 7 themes to test their imagination and collect ideas from different contestants.

3. Simplistic Red-Green Version Control for Drafts - Penana implemented a simple yet effective version control for drafts. Users can easily compare and review the draft revisions made by their collaborators: Red is deletion. Green is correction.

“The idea behind allowing collaboration roles when writing a story is that we notice not all people have the time to write long passages, but are good at contributing creative ideas and giving constructive comments to improve a story,” said Coen Wong, Co-founder at Penana. “The unified story sharing user experience, collaborative features, and communication tools were also designed on based on many writers’ feedback to make the co-creating experience fun, sociable, and effective. Writing stories is never a lonely process anymore."

Penana might be the most collaborative e-publication social platform and online community with a simple vision of "Creating a Storyworld where writers and readers collaborate." The company has also released their Android Application “Penana – Your Mobile Fiction App” recently on Google Play to offer users a seamless mobile experience that captures the essential features and user experience on the web platform.
