South Carolina Nonprofit Passes Important Milestone With 3,500 Likes on Facebook

Pacific Islands Society successfully leveraging Facebook to grow its online user base in Pacific Island Countries

Today, the Pacific Islands Society surpassed 3,500 Facebook Page Likes. The nonprofit is currently on-track for a 5% increase in week-on-week Facebook Page Likes, reflecting growing interest in its programs and platforms among Pacific Islanders.

The Pacific Islands Society's Facebook page provides users with the ability to stay up-to-date on the latest news and information from the region. It also gives users a platform to engage in discussions about issues affecting islanders worldwide.

We are consistently amazed at how positively Pacific Islanders have responded to our social media initiatives. We have found Facebook to be an invaluable platform for bridging the geographic boundaries that separate islanders around the world.

Eddie Walsh, Founder and President

One of the most recent posts made to the page asks members to support a petition on Change.org calling for a public referendum on the proposed live-fire U.S. military exercises on Tinian and Pagan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
