Vitality Consulting, Inc. Team Attends Quarterly Conference

A delegation from Vitality Consulting, Inc. recently attended the company's quarterly conference in Texas. In addition to participating in lectures and seminars, the team in attendance had an opportunity to practice networking skills.

“It’s always a thrill to attend the quarterly conferences,” said Jennifer, Vitality Consulting, Inc.’s director of operations. “Our team learns so much from the industry leaders. The lectures and seminars are filled with such great knowledge. We always leave with great ideas we apply when we return to our office.”

Jennifer noted that the ability to meet new people is one of the Vitality Consulting, Inc. team’s favorite aspects of attending conferences. “There were lots of people there from different regions,” she shared. “We enjoyed meeting with them and sharing our strategies and interactive marketing ideas. There are so many lasting bonds that are formed at these events.”

Prior to attending conferences, Jennifer noted the team formulates goals for learning and networking. “We arrived in Texas already knowing what information we wanted to gather and who we wanted to meet,” she explained. “Anything else was a bonus. This is how you ensure your time is well spent.”

Vitality Consulting, Inc.’s Managers Share Networking Tips

Networking skills are frequently stressed with the Vitality Consulting, Inc. team. “Our business is about connecting with people,” stated Jennifer. “There’s definitely an art to networking.”

Jennifer cited that many people associate networking with obtaining the highest number of business cards, which is not an effective approach. “We remind our associates that quality overrides quantity,” she added. “You’re not there to collect cards or make sure everyone has yours. You’re there to make viable contacts with whom you can develop ongoing business relationships.”

The art of conversation impacts how much success a networking event will yield. “When you meet people, try to make connections,” Jennifer advised. “Introduce yourself in a memorable way. Don’t just share your name and company. Describe yourself as a whiz at creating compelling promotions or a person who makes start-up advertising dreams come true.”

“Focus on the person you’re meeting,” Jennifer suggested. “Don’t make it about you. People love to talk about themselves, so ask lots of questions. Actively listen. Never look at your smartphone. The person or people in front of you are the only ones who matter. Find common ground wherever you can. This is how you make a memorable impression. This is how you walk away with an important connection.”

Jennifer concluded, “If you leave a networking event with even one solid connection, you’re ahead of most people there.”
