Atlanta, GA -- Charles H. Green, Executive Director of Atlanta-based Small Business Finance Institute, recently announced that the 2nd annual "Stepping Up To Business" conference would be held February 29, 2012 in downtown Atlanta. The event is a 1-day conference for small business owners to learn better techniques and strategies to manage their finances and find new capital resources.

"Our inaugural event was a huge success in terms of both attendance and content. In 2012, we will present fifteen different workshops, with the expertise of more than 40 seasoned financial professionals teaching important lessons about vital information to operating a business" said Green. "This concentration of information aimed at business owners and entrepreneurs has never been organized anywhere else in one event."

The most popular session from the 2011 conference will return, "Bootstrapping: Starting or Staying in Business With Less Cash," a panel discussion led by seasoned angel investors, business owners, and start-up mentors who teach strategies to get started or keep operating with less capital required.

The featured new session in 2012 will be "Thinking Outside the Bank," a panel discussion presented during lunch that will discuss new financing sources that offer alternatives to the traditional "bank-reviews-financial-statement-and-credit-report" obstacles. Featured presenters will discuss a new "merchant credit account" approach to financing working capital, and a new lender that analyzes a business client's YELP rankings, health inspections and customer comments rather than financial statements.

The conference will held at The Loudermilk Center, 40 Courtland Street, Atlanta GA 30303, on Wednesday February 29, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Registration costs $175 per person (until February 9th, when it increases to $225). Conference registration information is found at Stepping-Up-To-Business.

The Small Business Finance Institute is a non-profit business education enterprise founded with the mission to teach small business owners to effectively manage the money they have and find the funding they need. For more information please visit www.SBFI.org.
