Acuity Academy Announces Launch of Anti-Fraud Course for Nonprofit Organizations

VANCOUVER, Wash., February 21, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Tiffany Couch, CPA/CFF, CFE, founder and CEO of Acuity Forensics, a nationally recognized forensic accounting firm, has launched a new venture, Acuity Academy, aimed at ending insider fraud. Acuity Academy’s first initiative is Stop Nonprofit Fraud, an e-course delivered in video format that provides nonprofit board members and executives the education and tools necessary to protect their organization from financial fraud.

Nonprofit organizations are especially vulnerable to insider fraud, typically due to a perceived lack of resources, the belief that a most trusted employee has the finances handled and a lack of appropriate internal controls. According to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners’ 2018 Report to the Nations, the median loss experienced by nonprofits in a typical fraud scheme is $75,000.
