Fine Cut Increases QA efforts
Online, October 16, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Fine Cut Graphic Imaging has recently promoted Jack Pollard to QA Manager. This job role became available after Jack raised the concern of the rising number of returns and as Fine Cut are a quality label and marking manufacturer it was imperative to react to such issues and ensure that every label and product that leaves the factory is in perfect condition.
A new system to monitor and react to problems, including the production of a new Customer Corrective Action Report. This form lists all returned goods from customers. Each form is filled out when a part is returned, the details are recorded including customer, part name/number, date, problem description, root course, corrective action and rejection code.
Once a CCAR has been raised and logged the products go into a lockable cage with a sticker relating to the CCAR number. This stops the products from re circulating the factory or possibly being despatched again. The Goods stay in the cage until the issue is resolved.
The stats are reviewed monthly and Quality meetings are held to discuss the issues. This meeting allows the mangers to give their views on corrective action for each return and how to stop the same issue happening the next time that particular product is produced.
