Back To Even...and Beyond

Greed got me nowhere in the game of trading. Ambition and determination are what dug me out of the hole. Here's my story on how I did it.

I watched indecisively as Jim Cramer practically ordered everyone to liquidate their holdings in the stock market because Wall Street is about to collapse. He made this prediction in August, 2008, right before the stocks crashed. I had a plausible 27% return on my investments year-to-date, which led me to totally ignore the crazy man.
I held onto every investment ...and then of course, I watched them all dwindle in the coming months. By year end, my 401K was slashed in half and my other investments disappeared like a cloud of smoke. Greed, ignorance, and arrogance could be to blame for my losses.
I saddled up the horse and instead of dwelling on the past I looked toward the future and challenged myself to get back to even. I got back into stocks and bolstered my portfolio by smartly diversifying. I also started to take the advice of the mad man that I ignored in the first place, Jim Cramer.
In the end, I did get back to even. Surprisingly, most of my returns came from Forex. With the help of some very knowledgeable friends, they shed the light on this incredibly volatile and lucrative market. I learned the basics at www.babypips.com. There are many broker scammers out there, so my friends directed me to Oanda (www.oanda.com). Oanda had great reviews from their clients. I firmly believe in customer reviews, so I was looking for feedback from people who had success. Nothing beats personal testimony. For that reason, I always read lots of blogs. The best blog for me was at: http://softwareforexreviews.blogspot.com/2009/10/forex-software-project.html#comments. I get my news from Dailyfx.com. I do also read the news from Oanda, but I prefer Dailyfx.
I got back to even fairly quickly and didn't stop there. I hope my success story helps you out. With a little determination and effort anyone can get back to even...and beyond!
