Toyota Material Handling USA will host 3-day workshop presented by the Lean Factory Group
The Lean Factory Group is pleased to announce a unique Lean learning opportunity: a three-day Lean intensive workshop hosted by Toyota Material Handling USA and presented by the members of the Lean Factory Group.

About the program:

Mixed Model Line Design: The future of manufacturing belongs to multi-product manufacturing, but few Lean practitioners are competent in mixed-model line design. A primary goal of this workshop is for participants to learn these line design skills, and to be able to apply them immediately in their home factory environment.

Beyond Lean Basics: Take the leap beyond 5S, Value Stream Mapping and SMED to where the real process improvements take place: line design. This workshop is led by experts in mixed-model design from Leonardo Group Americas, with presentations from industry experts from the Lean Factory Group.

Physical Implementation: Students learn best by doing, and this Advanced Workshop will include the actual implementation of all of the line design tools in a simulation environment. Participants will design the production environment, and then build an actual product using production-level hardware.

Toyota Plant Tours (3): Once a day participants will have a chance to compare what was learned in the classroom, and applied in a simulation environment, to what is actually done at a factory that was awarded "Plant of the Year" in 2010. The plant tours will be led by seasoned Toyota experts, with a focus on the line design tools applied in the classroom.

Designing the Ultimate Workstation: An important part of the line design effort is the optimization of the physical work area. In this module a representative in workstation design from the Lean Factory Group will implement the workstation optimization checklist.

Visual Factory Tools for Line Design: Being visual and being Lean go hand-in-hand. Complete the physical line design implementation with guidance from the Visual Factory experts at the Lean Factory Group.

Optimized Material Delivery: Experts from the Lean Factory Group will present a module on the optimization of material delivery, as a critical component of the optimal line design.
