AES Donates Design Software for 25-Seat Lab to Cheltenham High School

AES Clean Technology, Inc., the leader in design, construction, and manufacture of modular cleanroom systems, recently donated a lab of architecture software to Cheltenham High School in Wyncote, PA - a grant worth up to $25,000. The donation was made possible through a program created to have commercial companies support educational institutions within their local communities. To celebrate this award, AES visited Mrs. Penney Fleming's Architectural and Technical Drawing class for the chance to meet and interact with many of the students who will learn and work firsthand with the new software. Todd Rohn, PE, of AES gave a presentation to students, introducing them to the software and demonstrating how it may be used in real world applications. Students were lead through a sample cleanroom project by AES that illustrated many key areas of building design.

The architecture software package donated by AES is a Building Information Modeling (BIM) solution developed specifically for architectural designs. The software combines 2D and 3D model elements together with parametric components through a visual database of design information. The structure of the software maintains design information and allows for changes to be automatically updated throughout the entire model. Because the software functions as a single database, design information is regularly coordinated throughout all views of the information. The software provides a foundation that directly supports collaboration among all team members, from architects and engineers, to designers and contractors, to owners and facility managers.

AES draws on the latest technology to gain an advantage on providing accurate, consistent design information throughout the entire cycle of a project. With this software platform, AES is able to maximize design integration though out the organization and deliver high-quality, sustainable cleanroom designs. Throughout design analyses, performance simulations, detailing and others, AES is able to employ the software to support the needs of its customers - all to ensure the success of each project.

AES has chosen Cheltenham High School as it resides in the same county (Montgomery County) as the company. AES Clean Technology, Inc. prides themselves in helping the communities surrounding their two locations; Montgomeryville, PA and Suwanee, GA. The students will start working with the program hands - on beginning with the 2011 - 2012 academic years.
