AFSO "Symphonic Fiesta" Concert
Online, February 15, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra Celebrates The Zarzuela!
Ars Flores is announcing its upcoming concert, "Symphonic Fiesta." This concert, honoring South Florida's ties to Cuba and Spain, presents selections from famous Zarzuelas written by composers such as Cuban-born, Ernesto Lecuona and Argentinian, Alberto Ginastera. Featuring singers from the Sociedad Pro-Arte Grateli, a local non-profit support group, dedicated to preserving, promoting, and heightening the awareness of Hispanic-American traditions, this concert combines famous overtures and vocal numbers for a varied program.
As a mentoring orchestra with the mission of "developing tomorrow's music professionals through mentoring and performance, while fostering community interest in the arts," Ars Flores strives to create programs that interest the public, reflect the varied cultures of the South Florida area, and educate its Fellows in traditional, as well as multicultural and non-traditional styles of music. AFSO has created this program to celebrate the culture of South Florida with music of Spanish and Cuban Zarzuelas, while supporting the education of young musicians.
AFSO is offering 50% off tickets for these concerts if Promo Code "FIESTA" is mentioned
To increase community enrichment, AFSO has also created the "Music for Munchkins" concert series. These concerts take place earlier in the day on concert days and are free 30-minute programs for young children and families. They are followed by a reception with juice and donut holes.
