All About Broward! Poetry Project Debuts In Time For National Poetry Month
Online, March 31, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Poet ANASTASIA CLARK is proud to announce the public debut of the "Broward County Poet-In-Residence Anastasia Clark Poetry Workshop Series: All About Broward!" project.
Clark conducted five free poetry workshops at five libraries throughout Broward County, Florida and also sought local submissions via the internet. The focus of the ALL ABOUT BROWARD project was to gather poetry about the memorable people, places and things that participants had encountered in Broward County. Workshops featured writing tips and discussions.
Participation was robust, with over 20 poets contributing over 50 poems to the project! Poets include Jane Ellen Glasser, author of three poetry books, including Light Persists, winner of the 2005 Tampa Review Prize for Poetry. Also contributing are Linda Eve Diamond, author of numerous books, including a poetry collection, The Human Experience, and David Plumb, author of nine books, who offered three signature pieces to the project. The overall collection features various styles and themes from a wide variety of poets- offering a diverse poetic "snapshot" of Broward County, Florida.
The participants will be reading their selected poems at two free public presentations: April 13, 2011 from 5:30-7:30pm at Broward County Main Library, 100 S. Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33025. Tel: 954-357-7443. April 16, 2011 from 2:00-4:00pm at Miramar Library, 2050 Civic Center Place, Miramar, FL 33025. Tel: 953-437-1806.
The project will also be on display at ten other Broward County libraries during April 2011 National Poetry Month: Deerfield Beach Library, Margate Catherine Young Library, Northwest Regional Library, Imperial Point Library, Pembroke Pines Library, Weston Library, Dania Beach Paul DeMaio Library, Carver Ranches Library, Hallandale Beach Library, and Southwest Regional Library.
