ArchDaily Building of the Year Awards

Online, February 9, 2010 (Newswire.com) - ArchDaily is currently the most visited Architecture website in the world with more than 1,800,000 visits and 14,000,000 pageviews a month. It features the latest projects, awards, contests and architecture related news. It holds a growing database of the latest projects from all around the world and gives firms from all size, the chance to be featured and promoted via their platform.

Last month, ArchDaily partnered with Floornature to launch a unique award for the international architecture community (http://www.archdaily.com/building-of-the-year/2009/). In these awards their readers have the chance to nominate and vote for the best projects featured in ArchDaily during 2009.

The first round featured more than 900 projects from 600 different architecture firms. Architects and readers from all over the world decided on their favorites and today, after thousands of votes, the five finalists for each category were announced.

The awards are not only an interesting online architecture award, but they also give the chance to small firms from Portugal or Latvia to compete hand by hand with the most prestigious architectural practices like OMA, Diller Scofidio, REX or Tadao Ando.

From large campus facilities to a small library in Singapore, 65 projects remain in competition to win in one of the 13 categories. Social media has been an important online tool nowadays, and ArchDaily has integrated it, since readers may vote through their Facebook and Twitter account. The community has the final word, and after the competition ends next February 28th, winners will be announced.
