AVTECH Unveils New Patent-Pending 'Monitor360' Technology in Their Room Alert Monitoring Platform

Manufacturer of environment monitors introduces new technology to provide users with insights on the factors that can lead to downtime.

Monitor360 Options

AVTECH Software (AVTECH) has announced the introduction of their new patent-pending "Monitor360™" technology available to all Room Alert users in their Room Alert Account at RoomAlert.com. "Monitor360™" allows for the creation of composite virtual sensors leveraging readings from multiple sensors and multiple devices within the Room Alert Account, to help users better understand why they are receiving alerts on environmental conditions that can lead to downtime and data loss.

Now in its 30th year in business, AVTECH manufactures Room Alert, the world’s most popular environment monitor. Room Alert is made in the USA and proactively monitors environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, flood, power, smoke, and more. Room Alert is currently used in 186 of 196 countries by organizations ranging from thousands of small businesses to Amazon, Boeing, Sprint, Microsoft, over 80% of the Fortune 1000, the United Nations, Pentagon, all branches of the US government, all 50 states, and many local governments. AVTECH was named “RI Exporter of the Year” by the US Small Business Administration for 2018.

Introducing our patent-pending Monitor360™ technology will help our users protect their facilities and IT environments like never before.

Michael Sigourney, Founder & CEO

“Room Alert is critical in helping notify users of environmental factors that could lead to downtimes, such as high temperature, humidity, or water leaks within their data center or facility,” said Richard Grundy, President of AVTECH. “In the past, users would receive an alert that perhaps notified them of high temperatures. However, it was up to the user to determine why the temperatures were so high. With "Monitor360™" technology, our users can now build their own custom and virtual sensors within their Room Alert Account with multiple factors, giving them a better view as to why they are receiving alerts and helping to determine what they should do next. Instead of just receiving an alert about high temperature in the data center, they can now receive an alert telling them that the temperature is too high, and at the same time the Air Flow Sensor on their HVAC unit is closed while also telling them the Active Power Sensor attached to the HVAC is showing no power to the unit. This gives the user an immediate overview of the fact that the temperature is too high due to their HVAC unit being down, allowing them to immediately begin fixing the problem.”

Room Alert users can also set up various other types of composite or virtual sensors in their Room Alert Account using "Monitor360™" technology. As an example, users with multiple locations can set an alert to notify them with the average temperature across all their locations is above or below a certain threshold. Another practical use for "Monitor360™" is for storage units that need to have doors open at specific intervals to prevent security lapses, or to maintain consistent temperatures. If Room Entry Sensors on 2 doors show they are open at the same time, a custom alert can be sent to signify that a door may be stuck or propped open against company regulations.

In addition to Room Alert environment monitors and the online Room Alert Account service, AVTECH also provides Device ManageR software for Room Alert monitoring, management, logging, alerting and reporting. All are completely designed and supported at AVTECH’s corporate headquarters at Cutler Mill in Warren, Rhode Island.

AVTECH offers a wide range of digital, switch and analog sensors designed to help users monitor as many environmental conditions as possible to help protect their data centers, server rooms, and facilities as part of their business continuity plan.

“Introducing our patent-pending "Monitor360™" technology will help our users protect their facilities and IT environments like never before,” said Michael Sigourney, Founder and CEO of AVTECH. “Room Alert has always been a worldwide leader in notifying users immediately of environmental conditions that lead to downtime. Now our users will not only know that there’s a problem, they can know when multiple conditions lead to a threatening situation, allowing them to fully understand and then resolve the situation even faster.”
