Bluewater Strengthens Integration Leadership with Addition of Will Putnam as Director of Operations

Industry veteran brings leadership, technical expertise, and process-driven experience to support Bluewater's continued growth.

Bluewater Technologies, a national leader in audiovisual integration and event technology, has named Will Putnam Director of Operations for its Integration Business Unit. The newly created leadership role reflects Bluewater's continued investment in operational excellence as the company supports larger, more complex projects across enterprise, higher education, healthcare, corporate, sports, and entertainment environments.

Based in Bluewater's Indianapolis office and reporting to Art Rautenberg, Vice President of Operations, Putnam will lead the day-to-day operations of Bluewater's Integration business, overseeing Engineering, Programming, Project Management, and Project Coordination. In this role, he will focus on developing people, strengthening operational processes, enhancing systems, and driving consistent execution across every phase of project delivery.

Putnam's addition further strengthens the leadership team responsible for delivering Bluewater's audiovisual integration work while supporting the company's continued momentum and long-term scalability. His role also reinforces Bluewater's investment in its Indianapolis office and growing presence across the Midwest.

"Will is exactly the kind of leader we were looking for," said Art Rautenberg, Vice President of Operations at Bluewater. "He has worked in nearly every role within this business, from technician and field engineer to programmer, project manager, and director of operations. That experience gives him a deep understanding of what our teams do every day and what it takes to deliver successful projects. He has built strong teams, improved processes, implemented scalable systems, and developed people throughout his career. Combined with his service-first mindset and years as a Firefighter/EMT, Will brings the discipline, composure, and leadership we need as our Integration business continues to grow."

Putnam joins Bluewater from American Sound & Electronics, where he most recently served as Director of Operations. Throughout his career, he has advanced through nearly every stage of the audiovisual integration profession - from Integration Technician and Field Engineer to Programmer, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Director of Operations. That progression has given him a unique understanding of the technical, operational, and leadership challenges organizations face as they grow.

" What really stood out to me about Bluewater was the people and the culture," said Putnam. " From my first conversations, it was clear the company isn't satisfied with simply being successful - it wants to keep getting better. I was also impressed by the leadership team's vision for strengthening the culture, investing in its people, and creating an organization where accountability, collaboration, and innovation go hand in hand. That's the kind of organization I wanted to be part of. I'm excited to work alongside this team, help strengthen our operations, develop our people, and build the systems and processes that will support Bluewater's next chapter of growth."

Putnam holds AVIXA's CTS-D, CTS-I, and CTS certifications, along with Project Management Professional training and numerous manufacturer certifications across audio, video, networking, control systems, and collaboration technologies. His combination of field experience, technical credentials, and operational leadership gives him a strong foundation for supporting Bluewater's teams, clients, and long-term Integration strategy.
