Call for Artists, Crafters & Vendors for Fourth Annual Art in the Park
Online, April 23, 2012 (Newswire.com) - If you are one of the many who enjoys art and supporting your local community, then you won't want to miss the Fourth Annual Art in the Park in downtown historic Stevensville, Maryland on June 23, 2012, from 9 am-4 pm, rain or shine.
Tucked away between Love Point Rd and Cockey Lane, 'Pocket Park' in Historic Stevensville will once again be transformed into a dazzling display of artistic mastery. Local and visiting artists will show off their latest original creations including paintings, prints, photography, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, books, clothes and more. Local shops, galleries, restaurants, and historic sites will be open to the public in addition to music and various food vendors. Come experience the local color and flavor along with the fabulous history and heritage of the area.
Local artist and event co-organizer Maureen Bannon says she hopes this years festival will not only be bigger and better, but will help promote those local artists whose work not only celebrates Kent Island and the Eastern Shore but works to keeps its traditions alive. "We keep working through these tough economic times hoping to emerge the better for our struggles and all-the-while we continue to encourage folks to help keep the art and history alive here" said Bannon. "There is so much history and cultural talent on the Shore that folks don't truly know about it. What a better way to showcase them than with a local festival," she said.

All fees and donations will go to the development of the Arts and Entertainment District in Stevensville, a non-profit (501c3) organization. Stevensville is a partner of 'The String of Pearls', a collaboration of the Arts and Entertainment District of Queen Anne's County.
