Camp Bow Wow Portland Sets Record Goal of 102 Dog Adoptions in Less Than One Year

Nation's Largest Pet Services Company Proudly Announces That Its Portland, ME Camp Has Helped Over 100 Abandoned Dogs Find Their Forever Homes

Camp Bow Wow, the nation's largest pet services company, is proud to announce that its Portland, ME Camp, Camp Bow Wow Portland, has successfully facilitated 102 dog adoptions this calendar year. In addition to providing premium pet care, all Camp Bow Wow locations offer in-house foster dog programs as part of its non-profit organization, the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation. Each Camp works hand-in-hand with local rescue organizations to help abandoned dogs find their forever homes.

Every year thousands of homeless animals are euthanized. Portland, ME is a hub for rescuing abandoned dogs from high-kill shelters in the Southern States. Camp Bow Portland has more than doubled their adoption record from last year, which totaled forty-four.

"We love all dogs. It is our mandate to help find, warm, safe and happy homes for as many of them as we possibly can," said Gary Mansir, owner of Camp Bow Wow Portland, ME. "Next year, we plan to work extra hard so that we can once again double our record."

Bullet, a boxer mix was the 100th lucky dog to be adopted from Camp Bow Wow Portland this year. Prior to arriving at Camp Bow Wow Portland, Bullet spent most of his life chained to a fence. Tragically, he was also involved in a car accident that took the life of his brother. Bullet suffered several painful injuries and needs surgery. His adoption was made official yesterday and he now permanently resides with his new mom and Portland, MN resident Delia. In honor of the Camp's 100th adoption, Camp Bow Wow is making a donation towards Bullet's operation.

"We at Camp Bow Wow truly believe that every animal deserves a loving family and that is why we are very passionate about our Foster Dog Program that has given thousands of dogs across the U.S. and Canada second chances. It is hugely rewarding to not only be able to introduce so many people to their furry loved ones, but to be able to save an animal's life, which is most important," said Heidi Ganahl, CEO and founder of Camp Bow Wow. "Congratulations Camp Bow Wow Portland on your remarkable accomplishment."
