Online, September 4, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Applebatch.com, a Chicago-based teacher community seeking to connect K-12 teachers to a professional network and resources, rewards technology teachers in Chicago Public Schools for trying to push through barriers and innovate in the classroom.
School is finally back in session at Chicago's Public Schools. Over the summer, CPS Administration passed mandates restricting the usage of technology and tools by teachers.
"We understand that this ruling has both frustrated and disheartened teachers pushing for change", said George Hammer III, Applebatch CEO. "Therefore, Applebatch.com wants to continually motivate and reward those teachers pushing for more innovation in the education sector."
On Thursday, September 10th, the Applebatch Teacher Network will randomly select eight technology teachers to receive an award. The winners will each receive two free tickets to Ravinia. Applebatch seeks to advocate on behalf of technology teachers and change leaders in schools everywhere.
Quoting Hammer, "It is very easy to feel helpless and give up as a technology leader in schools. We need to unite, connect and promote the voices of technology teachers in Chicago to push for change."
