Church of Scientology Volunteer Ministers Offer Seminar to Help Make New Year's Resolutions Stick
As breaking New Year's Resolutions is just as prevalent as making them, the Volunteer Ministers are offering tools to reverse the trend.
Clearwater, FL, January 1, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Despite the best of intentions, an estimated 88% of those making New Year’s Resolutions fail to keep them. Helping improve those odds are the Volunteer Ministers of the Church of Scientology, who are offering a free seminar called “Targets and Goals” on Tuesday the 12th of January at their center in Clearwater. The center is located at 101 N. Fort Harrison Ave and the seminar itself will begin at 7:30 and last an hour. The seminar utilizes discoveries in the field of strategic planning, developed by Scientology Founder and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard.
“There are precise tools that can be used to set the goals for any activity,” said Glendy Goodsell, the Executive Director for the Volunteer Ministers Florida Chapter. “Central to that is the purpose of why one wants to achieve a specific goal – it is possible to learn step by step how to achieve your goals.”

Glendy Goodsell, Executive Director for the Volunteer Ministers Florida Chapter
Said one student who completed a study of the subject: “Targets and Goals has taught me the importance of having a battle plan and an overall strategy so that when problems occur one can either deal with the problem and still continue towards one’s overall objective, or adapt and re-evaluate so that the problem becomes small in relation to your end goal.”
“Targets and Goals” is just one of the nineteen subjects covered in the Scientology Handbook, the basic textbook for the Volunteer Ministers training program. Other subjects include: The Cause of Supression, The Basics of Organization and The Technology of Study. Free on-line training in these subjects is also available via the group’s website at www.volunteerministers.org.
Ms. Goodsell said that since the opening of the Volunteer Minister Center in July of 2015, more than 3,300 people have come in to learn more about the Volunteers Ministers as well as avail themselves of courses and seminars.
