Concert to Feature Chamber Works by Iowa Composers
Online, September 17, 2009 (Newswire.com) - The University of Iowa's Center for New Music will perform chamber works by six Iowa composers on Sunday, September 27th at 7:30 pm at Riverside Recital Hall in Iowa City, IA. Performers for the concert include advanced student musicians from the University of Iowa's school of music.
The concert will feature Trio D'Anches by Alan Schmitz, Six Degrees of Separation by Brooke Joyce; Fricas, Fracas, Frucas by Ralph Kendrick; Concertino Mediterraneo by Linda Robbins Coleman; Point of No Return by Michael Eckert; and So it Goes... by Christopher Gainey.
Now in its 44th year, the Center for New Music is a performance organization devoted to literature from the late 20th and early 21st centuries. David Gompper directs the ensemble.
