Craftech Industries Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification
Online, April 23, 2010 (Newswire.com) - "Achieving ISO 9001:2008 certification has given Craftech a quality system that will grow with us", said Linda Jablanski, General Manager. Our globally located customers expect an increasingly high level of performance from their suppliers. ISO assures them that we will, to paraphrase our corporate mission, "meet or exceed their requirements and expectations through technical guidance, on-time delivery, and customer service."
"ISO certification has been a long-time goal", said Skip Gerard, one of Craftech Industries' owners. "Our employees really gave us great cooperation and support in learning and applying the many new skills necessary to qualify. Also, ISO 9001:2008 has truly been streamlined in a way that made qualifying a much more logical process than it once was. It really is beginning to work well for us. After all, no U.S. manufacturing company can compete solely on price these days. What has become even more important is on-time, quick delivery; and total reliability because customers these days, many of whom utilize 'just in time' delivery of their purchased components, want to be able to trust their supplier's quality without conducting extensive inspections.
"One reason we registered is because more and more companies require it, continued Mr. Gerard. "However, ISO has had a large number of positive effects on our company's performance because of the changes which it forced upon our corporate culture. Any family business that grows larger needs to at least partially toss out the 'mom and pop' ways of administering that tends to rely on a few individuals to personally make sure everything gets done. Today, the technology exists that allows automation in previously undreamed-of ways. We must creatively implement that automation wherever possible.
.
"ISO allows any sized manufacturer to rely on a sensible system for quality control that also includes built-in motivation to improve. We are in a war right now and it isn't the war on terror. The real war is being fought with other export-reliant manufacturing economies. We must offer better service and continuous innovation", concluded Mr. Gerard, "or we will not be here 10 years from now"
