Dewnya A. Bazzi Has Been Recognized Among the Top in Her Industry by the Expert Network©

The Expert Network© celebrates its newest member, Attorney Dewnya A. Bazzi

Dewnya A. Bazzi, Founding Partner & Personal Injury Department Director, AT Law Group, has joined The Expert Network©, an invitation-only service for distinguished professionals. Ms. Bazzi has been chosen as a Distinguished Lawyer™ based on peer reviews and ratings, dozens of recognitions, and accomplishments achieved throughout her career.

Ms. Bazzi outshines others in her field due to her extensive educational background, numerous awards and recognitions, and industry-leading client service. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and criminal justice, Ms. Bazzi went on to follow her dream of becoming an attorney by obtaining her Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Throughout that time she served as a legal intern for Congressman John Dingell and for the Open Dealer Exchange, LLC. She continued with the same company after graduating as corporate counsel responsible for legal advisement.

"In Michigan, we are the only state that has no full system lifetime medical benefits plan, other than auto coverage. In my opinion we have the best coverage you can possibly get when you're involved in an auto accident, and as a result our auto insurance is higher than most. Because of the rates, big business, and lobbyists, there's a large push in the legislation to get that changed, so every so often a bill will be discussed in Congress in regards to that."

With just six years of experience, Ms. Bazzi has already been recognized by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys as a leader within personal injury law. She is a founding partner at AT Law Group, where she is the director of the personal injury department. AT Law's practice also encompasses the areas of criminal defense, immigration law, business law, family law, real estate law, and nonprofit law. When asked why she decided to pursue a career in law, Ms. Bazzi said:

"When I was young I was often called the lawyer in my family as I defended my sister to my parents, so it's something that I always wanted to do. When I graduated law school and took my bar exam I intended to do corporate law, with personal injury nowhere on my list. Unfortunately my brother got into a really bad car accident at the time and couldn't walk for six months, so I had to walk him through the entire process with the insurance company to see what he was dealing with. I realized that this was a way to really help people, which is how I got drawn to the personal injury field, even though initially I didn't want anything to do with it."

As director of the personal injury leg of her firm, Ms. Bazzi is a dedicated advocate for her clients and will stop at nothing to make sure victims’ rights are protected and their voices are heard. She focuses on all types of personal injury cases, including car and truck accidents, slips and falls, dog bites, motorcycle and bicycle accidents, product liability, and wrongful death.

As a thought-leader in her field, Ms. Bazzi keeps her eye on prevailing trends within personal injury law. In particular, she mentioned the highly contested issue of lifetime medical benefits in her state, particularly in regards to auto insurance:

"In Michigan, we are the only state that has no full system lifetime medical benefits plan, other than auto coverage. In my opinion we have the best coverage you can possibly get when you're involved in an auto accident, and as a result our auto insurance is higher than most. Because of the rates, big business, and lobbyists, there's a large push in the legislation to get that changed, so every so often a bill will be discussed in Congress in regards to that. We're definitely following that very closely to make sure that people who are severely injured don't get their benefits cut off just so companies can save twenty-five dollars a year."

Ms. Bazzi is the President of the Muslim Bar Association and a member of the State Bar Diversity Inclusion Committee as well as the Michigan Association For Justice.
