Dr. Ben Chavis Honored At The 1st Annual Diversity & Inclusion Awards

Online, July 24, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Dr. Ben Chavis, a co-founder of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN), is being honored for the Social Justice Award at this year's annual Diversity and Inclusion Awards (also known as The DANDI Awards). The list of honorees also includes Democratic National Committee Chief Diversity Officer Greg Hinton, Author & CEO of StemConnector Edie Frasier, Surgeon Dr. Michael Joyner, Clinton Global Initiative and Global Novations.
The awards are scheduled to be handed out July 31st at a ceremony in New York City at the New York Times Building, along with nominees recognized for their diversity initiatives in the following categories; Arts/Culture, Consumer Goods, Education, Entertainment, Entrepreneur, Environment/Sustainability, Fashion, Financial Services, Healthcare, International, Media, Non-Profit Sector, Social Responsibility, Sports, STEM (science, technology, engineering & math), and Workplace Diversity
This year's ceremony is being hosted by Tai Beauchamp, a lifestyle expert and social entrepreneur. Beauchamp has appeared as a style expert on ABC, BET, CNN, NBC Today, TV One, and Soapnet and frequently contributes to the Wendy Williams Show, blackenterprise.com, the STYLE Network, Inside Edition, E! and other networks.
Chavis foundation, the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN) is dedicated to harnessing the cultural relevance of Hip-Hop music to serve as a catalyst for education advocacy and other societal concerns fundamental to the empowerment of youth.
