edWeb and Eduscape Partner to Co-Host Virtual Learning Summits

Online learning events will focus on remote teaching and topics most requested by educators.

Virtual Learning Summits

edWeb.net and Eduscape have entered into a partnership to offer Virtual Learning Summits on today’s most important topics for teachers and administrators, including remote teaching, STEM education, Google and Microsoft 365 classroom, SEL, and early childhood education. The announcement was made today by Lisa Schmucki, Founder and CEO of edWeb.net, a free professional learning social network, and Alex Urrea, Founder and Managing Partner of Eduscape, the emerging leader for K-16 educator professional development in North America.

The organizations have combined to reach nearly 2 million educators – nearly 1 million preK-20 educators in the edWeb.net professional learning network while Eduscape has delivered professional development to nearly 800,000 educators since its inception.

The Virtual Learning Summits will be highly interactive, live events, presented by leading educators and experts, and focused on topics that educators have expressed are the most relevant for their current instructional needs. Attendees will earn edWeb CE certificates that are accepted in 40 states for professional development hours. edWeb has created a companion professional learning community that educators can join for free that will be supported by Eduscape and contain useful resources that align to summit topics.

“We are so excited to partner with Eduscape to be able to co-host high-quality, virtual learning summits on these important content areas,” stated Schmucki. “We’ve seen a 500% increase in demand for online professional learning as a result of COVID-19 and have been looking for a way to extend our offerings in this area. Our partnership with Eduscape is an ideal match with our combined professional learning credentials, our knowledge of the content areas educators are seeking, and our reach in the preK – 20 market.”

Due to COVID-19, educators across the country and around the world are tasked with suddenly shifting to remote teaching for the foreseeable future. This shift has educators scrambling to figure out how to use digital tools, online resources, and apps to continue their teaching and keep students engaged at a distance, while coping with social-emotional issues, too. Many of the topics offered in the upcoming virtual summits will address these challenges and give educators an opportunity to build their capacity and find mutual support.

“Partnering with the edWeb team is an honor and supports our mission of bringing the highest-quality professional learning opportunities to educators globally,” stated Urrea. “The combination of edWeb’s professional learning platform and Eduscape’s summit opportunities provide a dynamic, interactive and sustainable PD model for educators.”

edWeb and Eduscape will also be offering a customized professional learning solution that leverages edWeb’s network and Eduscape’s workshops to create a blended professional learning program for districts and schools to provide ongoing “anytime” professional learning for their teachers that is individualized, relevant, and collaborative.

The first Virtual Ed Summit under the partnership will be held on Google for Education on July 8 and also on Aug. 5. The full-day programs will include 15 breakout sessions focusing on remote teaching with G Suite applications, including virtual field trips, assessment and designing high-quality online learning experiences for students. The fee for the summit is $129 with group discounts available. Educators can register here.
