Emily Anderson brings the authentic historical sound of the 1940's back to life
Online, June 5, 2010 (Newswire.com) - EMILY ANDERSON
Emily Anderson has been writing songs and performing from the age of 16. She met her husband and band partner in college. After they got married, they moved to Cincinnati where Emily obtained a Master's degree in oboe performance. Her husband and she both moved to West Memphis where they perform in local venues and coffee shops.
Her new single, "Dig My Grave" is off of her new CD with the same title. Its meaning is working day to day in a way that is unfulfilling until the day you leave the earth. The title is a metaphor using that shovel and digging your way into an early grave. It captures the essence of early settlers who had no choice but to forge forward in the darkest days of their lives. In this song, she is asking for someone to help her find her way out. The beat of this song is a quick tempo light hearted sound even though it has a more serious theme to it. Emily is very versatile in her music compositions. She has a delicate voice and a powerful voice at the same time. It's a breath of fresh air to hear this style of music. It's not something you hear every day. The lyrics are like telling stories and she does it very well. She is quite versatile in the stories that she tells and the different beats, rhythms and textures she incorporates into each song.
Emily Anderson has put an enormous amount of effort into the making of this CD. She wanted it to be a complete representation of who she is. It took time to develop a masterpiece like this. And it is just that - magnificent in its styling, magnificent in its creation, recording and performance.
Emily Anderson has played at the Levitt Shell (formerly Overton Park Shell) in Memphis. She has also played several shows in the Cincinnati area and moving forward and outward into different regions.
She is currently working with A & R Select for a record deal, publishing, licensing and/or placement opportunities.
