Energize America Now! Launches "Beyond November" Pledge Campaign

Online, October 12, 2010 (Newswire.com) - BARRINGTON, IL - Energize America Now! announced today the launching of a new campaign for gathering support for realistic, sustainable, and immediate energy policies. While this campaign is directed at candidates for legislative offices, it also includes candidates for Governor, as well as all elected public officials. With three weeks to go for the November 2nd election, the group feels that there is more than enough time for these officials and candidates to review the information and sign the pledge. The candidates will be the first to receive pledge requests via email to the appropriate campaign offices, and elected officials currently holding office, will be sent pledge requests shortly thereafter.

The purpose of this effort is to raise awareness for issues that impact our energy independence, our energy production, local economies, and our environment. We are calling for an end to the continued promises that fall by the wayside after the election is long past. Instead, we are demanding that these candidates and the elected officials whose sole purpose is to represent their constituents, be held accountable for their actions and their inactions. As concerned Americans, we need to hold our representatives accountable, and demand immediate and real action."

The group has issued two pledges, one for the elected officials and candidates that simply calls for them to pledge their support, and to actively work to enact legislation that will speed up the process for alternative and renewable energy programs, and to provide alternative energy programs with the same tax benefits currently afforded only to renewable energy resources. The other pledge is for concerned Americans to support our efforts and to ensure the elected officials are held accountable. The Beyond November Pledge for elected officials and candidates, does not bind them in any way, nor does it create any conflict for the signer, but simply asks for their support on these critical issues. The group is also hoping to get a strong showing from all officials and candidates, with a balance of support from all political points of view. "The goal is to garner not just bi-partisan support, but rather a non-partisan support. This is not a political issue that belongs to one party or another, but it's an American issue," says VanNatta.
