First Ladies Author Feather Schwartz Foster Returns To WCVE (PBS) Virginia Currents

Online, November 18, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Williamsburg author Feather Schwartz Foster makes a return engagement on "Virginia Currents" when it airs on WCVE-TV on Thursday, November 17 at 8 PM. WCVE is a Public Broadcasting Station affiliate based in Richmond, Virginia. Ms. Foster's latest book is entitled "The First Ladies: An Intimate Portrait of the Women Who Shaped America." For the segment, Ms. Foster, and "Virginia Currents" interviewer May-Lily Lee discussed two First Ladies with strong Virginia ties: Rachel Jackson and Julia Tyler.

Other Virginia PBS affiliates will air the program at various times later in the month or in early December. The program will also be available at the WCVE Website (http://ideastations.org/tv) beginning November 22.

Feather Foster is a regular lecturer at both the Christopher Wren Society for William & Mary, and the Lifelong Learning Programs at Christopher Newport University. She has also made several guest speaker appearances at the Hennage Auditorium of the DeWitt Wallace Museum in Williamsburg, Virginia, and is scheduled to appear at the Muscarelle Museum at the College of William and Mary.

Mrs. Foster, a New Jersey native and now Williamsburg resident, has spent more than four decades as an independent Presidential scholar, specializing in the "personal" side of First Ladies. "The First Ladies" is her fourth book.
