Foundation for a Bioeconomy Debuts a New Strategy in the Fight Against Fossil Fuels

Newly formed Non-profit, "Foundation for a Bioeconomy" launches "Fund the Game. Fund the Future." on GoFundme.com and an Open Petition to U.S. Product Manufacturers calling for an agreement to use hemp and bamboo fibers in their products.

In concert with the COP21 Paris Conference The Foundation for a Bioeconomy Launches "Plan B" to the climate change problem. While the monumental agreement addresses carbon atmosphere emissions, the agreement falls short of addressing the toxic materials companies use in consumer products.
COP21 seems to have forsaken land and water in the baby steps taken in the climate change agreement.

We all will not build wind turbines or solar panels. However, we all buy plastic products, hygiene products and toilet paper.  We need another option to make an impact. Here is ours. We propose expanding the renewable energy discussion to the 84,000 toxic chemicals in products we buy every day made from fossil fuels. Where our protest is conveyed through purchase, leading to US factories producing hemp and bamboo products to service companies like Ford, Kimberly-Clark, Ikea, and while also supplying small and medium size businesses lower cost materials.

"Armed with the petition, we can go to U.S. Companies and ask them to give us an offtake agreement that states, if we can provide bamboo and hemp at a lower cost than the wood or toxic chemicals they are currently using, the company will agree to buy and use it."

Amanda Clayton-Stevens, Founder

"Our purpose is to expand the conversation beyond renewable energies to the toxic chemicals and materials poisoning our environments and our bodies. The moment that conversation begins, the average person has the power to fight fossil fuels," said Amanda Clayton-Stevens, Founder.

The Foundation introduces a radical new strategy that has taken over four years to prepare for the public. The Foundation has developed sites packed with videos, third party research, and opportunities to participate in the coming Evolution.

The Foundation's debut includes the production and distribution of The BioEconomy Game: the Monopoly Game where EVERYONE WINS.The game is produced using bamboo and hemp.

The purpose of the Gofundme project is to produce and distribute the Bioeconomy version of the popular "Monopoly Game." The Bioeconomy version offers education reflecting current events in the legalization of hemp and bamboo, and the fight against our use of fossil fuels.

The Bioeconomy game walks through the economic factors of a bioeconomy.  The game uses commerce to solve problems like climate change, war, and poverty by developing sustainable new resources.

Funds from the GoFundMe Project will go towards production of the Bioeconomy Game including distribution to 200 Nonprofits of the Donor's choice to introduce bamboo, and hemp as a way of providing a future to the poor. Bamboo and Hemp have a combined potential of over 50,000 uses and grow in over 70% of the earth's climates. Bamboo and hemp could provide livelihoods for the poor, and facilitate basic need items such as food, clothing shelter and water filtration.

The Foundation is combining charity and consumer power to tackle the world's problems, resulting in a real opportunity for sustainable, economic change. To prove this concept, the Foundation started the Open Petition entitled, "Tell U.S. Companies We Will Buy Change" on the popular petition website, Causes.

The aim of the petition is to encourage U.S. companies to commit to buying bamboo and hemp fibers for use in consumer products. Currently, Auto Manufacturers are using crops like bamboo and hemp in interior and body components as they continue to research the use of biomaterials. Paper manufacturers like Kimberly-Clark are currently investing in bamboo for paper pulp.

"Armed with the petition, we can go to U.S. Companies and ask them to give us an off-take agreement that states, if we can provide bamboo and hemp at a lower cost than the wood or toxic chemicals they are currently using, the company will agree to buy and use it."  Amanda stated. " With that off-take agreement, we can get investors to start financing bamboo and hemp processing here in the U.S. and internationally. Our end goal is to develop local hemp and bamboo farms which supply U.S. Factories.
