Frizo Self-Titled Album Gaining Momentum
Online, September 1, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The new self-titled album from Wisconsin-based rapper, Frizo, is starting to gain more attention from music listeners and industry professionals. The album, which was released earlier this summer, started quietly but has slowly built momentum, which as some in the industry attest, is often better for the album's longevity than a quick blast and quicker burn out.
"Frizo is a truly unique album and a truly unique individual," said Earnest Harris, of Marlo Music, the label behind the album. "Being out of the Wisconsin area makes him unique in the Rap and Hip Hop category because few people think of Wisconsin when it comes to that kind of music. So it is harder and slower to get people to sit up and take notice when you're not out of one of the urban centers known for Rap. But Frizo is the kind of guy that you're going to notice even if it takes a minute or two. He is just that good and that interesting with the unique style he brings."
Frizo's style, which is showcased on the 17 song album, is definitely different than what you expect when you think of Rap. For one, he tends to rap a lot about love and relationships, which is very different than most Rap which is all about toughness, using women, and bragging about what the rapper has. Even the music is more, well, musical, and decidedly more upbeat. The best example of this is one of the biggest songs off the album, "House Keys." The catchy song is all about loving a girl so much that he would do whatever she wanted, including giving her his house keys. It has a simple beat but is very fun and very much a feel good song.
Frizo's style has even been described as "Urban Pop" and not Hip Hop at all. But be not mistaken, he is very much a rapper and can write lyrics and music with the best of them. He is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in the business and may well spark a slew of imitators out there when his impact is fully realized.
His newest album, "Frizo," is available on all major download sites including iTunes, Amazon.com, Napster, eMusic and many more. Click here to listen to samples on iTunes preview.
