Fulcrum Celebrates World Environment Day - Employees Made Paper Bags And Distributed In Various Shops

Online, June 23, 2010 (Newswire.com) - On occasion of World Environment Day, Fulcrum employees took baby steps towards environment conservation.

Polythene bags are curse to the city's drainage system. Polythene bags do not get decomposed and clogs the drainage systems. How can anyone forget their infamous contribution to the Mumbai floods of 2005. Numbers of people were stranded on the roads, lost their homes, and many walked long distance back home from their offices. More than 1000 people died. However, unknowingly most of us are continuing the usage of Plastic Bags. Despite the legal ban, small shopkeepers find it convenient to provide the sold items in plastic bags. Citizens do not give second thought before accepting plastic bags. This has to stop; else it will spell doom to the world one day.

Unless we act, we cannot make difference. Taking forward the same thought, Fulcrum, organized newspaper bag making event on June 4th 2010. Fulcrum Employees (FLites) were requested to make at least 2 bags each, however everyone contributed more than 5 bags. The feeling of contributing their efforts for the welfare of world could be seen on their faces. The proverb "Act enthusiastic and you will be enthusiastic" seem come true that day.

The bags made by Flites were attractive and the makers were proud of their creation. Fulcrum circulated paper bags to the Chemists, General Stores, Vegetable Shops and Retail Stores.

This is a small but important step towards making our world a clean and green place to live in. We would like to take this initiative a step ahead and propagate it across schools and societies for wider reach through our Green Volunteers.
