Future-proof your business - an innovative course fo business owners
Online, February 1, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The new decade promises to be a dramatic one for business owners. In response to this the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business is offering a workshop series comprising twelve Saturday morning sessions. These four-hour sessions will address the key trends and technologies that are revolutionising business. Practical ways of incorporating them into an effective business model will be demonstrated and applied. Andrew Layman, Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber says: "This course, entitled New Decade: New Business - Strategies for Take-off will offer a unique approach to business revival and growth. The use of the internet and its infinite applications remain a mystery to many who have not yet grasped the myriad opportunities which are free or inexpensive. Here are ways to market, engage and network which many have never thought about."
The course draws on a pioneering workshop series on Business Intelligence which the Chamber offered in 2009. Bryce Biggs of Bryce Biggs Consulting, who is partnering with the Chamber to present the workshop series says: "The past decade has seen a complete reshaping of the business environment and the tools available to ensure business success. Businesses that don't incorporate these tools and techniques into their business model are unlikely to see the decade out".
The series will address a wide range of aspects of business, with a strong focus on approaches and tools that can be implemented immediately. Cost-effective use of the web and digital technology, the implementation of new tools and technologies that are impacting on key aspects of business, optimising the value chain, and the use of social media to bring in new business, are all analysed. Traditional management disciplines are addressed and brought up to date.
Course delegates will have the opportunity to partner with each other to carry out an in-depth review of their respective business model. A key session, which draws on the learning which will take place, challenges course delegates to take the necessary steps to double their profits in a year.
