Giant Atom Publishes its First Digital Picture Book for the iPad

Online, July 27, 2010 (Newswire.com) - In a joint partnership with award winning and New York Times best selling author Michael Garland, Giant Atom has transformed 'Icarus Swinebuckle' into an iPad app for children. Michael Garland is known for his New York Times best selling 'Miss Smith and the Haunted Library' picture book. He is a celebrated author/illustrator who has collaborated with James Patterson and Gloria Estefan. He has now teamed with Giant Atom to re-release a Parents' Choice award winning book in digital format.
Paul Scaturro owner of Giant Atom reflects on working with Michael Garland, "Mike's artwork is magnificent, it just pops off the page. I was blown away when he sent me the original Photoshop files to work with." He goes on to describe how the digital transformation was conceived, "I thought it would be cool to mix animation with still images. So every few pages the book comes to life."
Icarus Swinebuckle is also a great reading tool for kids. In addition to the Read-A-Long section that is narrated by Greville Socket, there is a section where each word of the book is separately recorded so that the child touches the word to hear it spoken. They also have a third section that enables anyone to record their voice while reading the story.

Giant Atom's entry into the iPad market with Michael Garland's 'Icarus Swinebuckle' will initially be given away for FREE for a limited time. It will be released at the end of July.
