Graduates' Achievements Applauded By Seales School Of Music & Performing Arts
Online, June 22, 2011 (Newswire.com) - GRENADA - The Seales School of Music and Performing Arts, Inc., a nonprofit organization, today announced the achievements of the Class of 2011. The Class achieved a stunning 100% pass rate, which includes five distinctions in Music Theory, Grade 1 examinations from the highly recognized and professionally acclaimed United Kingdom's Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). Minister of State Arley Gill, who is responsible for Culture and Information Technology at the Prime Minister's Office, presented two students with similar certificates at a short ceremony held at the School during May 2011. One of these students also obtained a distinction in Music Theory. There are currently 41 students enrolled at the School.
The strategic mission of the Seales School is to expand island-wide. As such, the second branch of the School will be opened at the "Mellow Entertainment Center" compound in the rural village of Birchgrove St. Andrew, a venue that is home to live performances by music and culture artistes year-round. U.K.-based singers Lloyd Brown and Judy Boucher rendered a moving Mother's Day concert in the venue in May 2011. This branch is keenly anticipated by the villagers, who currently lack the opportunity to nourish their creativity.
Founder and Chairman Jerry A Seales, Esq., himself a Grenadian, hails from a family of musicians and recording artistes. His latest release "Simple Life" (available at www.grenadamarket.com) was produced under the Relax record label and featured a guest artist, Australia-based Billy Searles.
Chairman Seales said, "I'm confident that my dream for the holistic development of Grenadian youth through music and performing arts education will become a reality." He indicated that he is pleased at the organization's progress, saying, "Considering the tender age of the organization, the examination results speak for themselves." Seales' niece, the phenomenal U.S.-based Amanda Diva (www.amadadiva.com), visits her family in Grenada November of each year and is resident at the School. According to Seales, "Her role as Music & Arts Consultant and Ambassador has proven to be an inspiration and great motivator for the students and the Grenadian youth population as a whole."
The opening of a third branch of the School in another rural parish, and the development of mutually beneficial collaboration with Music and Arts Schools in Uganda, Costa Rica, and India are top priorities at present. According to Seales, "Our association with Global Community Transformation in Uganda (www.gctuganda.org) is well on the way and by mid-2012 the students of both organizations will be reaping great benefits as the partnership evolves."
