Greater Zion Prepares For The 3rd Annual Resurrected Life Awards
Online, July 20, 2010 (Newswire.com) - COMPTON, CA -- Greater Zion Church Family (Pastor Michael Fisher) is proud to present the 3rd Annual Resurrected Life Awards that will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 5pm in the fellowship hall at Greater Zion Church Family, 2408 N. Wilmington Ave, Compton, CA 90222.
The 3rd Annual Resurrected Life Awards were created by Deacon Ryan King, who has volunteered in the church and community at numerous events such as Mablean Ephriam Foundation H.U.F. Awards and BET Celebration of Gospel. He established the event first and foremost from personal experiences of growing up without a father, and overcoming struggles with education, behavior, speech, self-esteem, and injustice with the law. The event brings attention and recognition to fatherless males who chose to live with purpose and who have overcome barriers socially, mentally, financially, and spiritually for a better future.
Nominations are currently being accepted for a total of five awards that will be presented during the program to youth and young adult males between the ages of 15-30 and one award to a seasoned male 60 years old or older -- Kingdom Minded(overcoming behavior problems in grades 5-11), Moses (a born leader who has overcome a speech impediment, and fears of public speaking), Meshach, Shadrach, & Abednego (three males who have overcome low self-esteem and worldly desires), Abundant Life (overcoming injustice and unjust legal cases), College Bound (an achiever who has overcome mental and financial burdens in higher education), and Living Testimony (a seasoned male 60 years old or older whose life values justice and improves morale).
The 3rd Annual Resurrected Life Awards will also present one scholarship to a current male student between the ages of 21-30 who delayed going to college after high school for personal or financial reasons. Deance' Wyatt (who played Jamal Hill in Freedom Writers) will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
