Green Leaf Inn Plans Playful Visit to Greenbuild Expo
Online, October 18, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Green Leaf Inn (GLI) announced today the launch of its Wanted Sweepstakes to be held during USGBC's Greenbuild International Conference and Expo on Nov. 14-16, 2012 in San Francisco, Calif.
The Wanted Sweepstakes was designed to help Greenbuild attendees offset their carbon footprint. All participants will have two Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) retired in their honor.
"In this case, two isn't a small number," said Catherine McQueen, co-owner of GLI. "Two RECs are equivalent to the avoidance of CO2 emissions of 114 gallons of gasoline or the consumption of 2.4 barrels of oil. Our goal is to retire 2,800 RECs for a total of 3,145,115 pounds of CO2."
All participants will also be entered into a drawing to win a one-year Featured Listing in GreenBuildTV's Green Directory, an $800 value, or an iPad 3.
The Green Directory offers three different levels of product and service listing opportunities with targeted exposure to green-minded builders and consumers.
"In just two months since our initial GreenBuildTV.com launch, we have had over 4,000 visitors to the site," said Fritz Kreiss, co-owner of GLI and host of GreenBuildTV. "We know people are interested and looking for information on green services and products."
The Wanted Sweepstakes is open to all 2012 Greenbuild attendees. The sweepstakes will open at 10 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, November 14, 2012; all entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CDT on Sunday, November 18, 2012.
The Green Leaf Inn is the first net-zero energy hotel being built in North America. The Inn is designed to be both a green luxury getaway and a sustainable demonstration model; a living laboratory and catalog of new technology, products, and providers.
