Griffle Games Launches New Music-Themed Game, "Stage Defender"
Online, October 4, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Griffle Games announced today that it has launched its newest music themed game. The game is called "Stage Defender" and is a tower defense genre game that plays user-selected music and provides opportunities for connecting to fans and making music sales.
Justin McManus, Company President, explains, "The central theme of Griffle is to make connections between fans and bands. In Stage Defender, the player selects a band they like and our recommendation engine provides both the selected music and similar music which plays during the game. The player defends the band on stage against a variety of opponents including cars full of fraternity boys, groupies, paparazzi, and even those darn birds that always show up at an outdoor gig."
Jason Shaw, Company Vice President and lead programmer, continues, "The weapons are all derived from music-related gear including microphones, guitars, speakers, and so on. Once you get your weapons positions and empowered it is a blast watching them since they are all animated and do crazy things while destroying the stage attackers."
Stage Defender is the second game in the pipeline for Griffle Games. With each launch the Company develops more sophisticated methods for developing demographically well defined fan bases and linking them with bands.
Justin commented, "With Stage Defender I think we have proven our technology and business model pretty well. Having reached over 25 million players with our games we are now actively seeking partnerships and investors to bring the Company to the next level. Our goal is to be the premier provider of innovative and effective tools to serve the vast number of indie bands desperately in need of new strategies for reaching their worldwide audience."
