GTT Consolidates McAllen Operations at MDC's MCA2 Data Center

MCALLEN, Texas, July 7, 2026 (Newswire.com) - MDC Data Centers has announced that GTT Communications Inc., a leading networking and security as a service provider for multinational organizations, has consolidated its McAllen operations in MDC's purpose-built, carrier-neutral facility, MCA2, at 422 S. 11th Street. This moves GTT's McAllen border infrastructure into the core of the most interconnected environment on the U.S.-Mexico border and completes its migration from MDC's legacy site at Chase Building.

At MCA2, GTT's backbone connects directly to other Tier-1 carriers, content providers, cloud platforms, MEX-IX and diverse international fiber crossings concentrated at the facility. For GTT, that concentration translates into shorter paths between the U.S. and Mexico and bridging into South America, more peering options within a single environment, and a more resilient architecture on the routes the company's enterprise and wholesale customers depend upon.
