Harvey Blackwood - UK Party Seeks to Reverse Brexit

Harvey Blackwood economists say new political party may threaten Brexit.

Harvey Blackwood economists say a recently-established UK political party inspired by French President Emmanuel Macron’s ascent to power, has begun a national campaign with the aim of reversing Brexit.

The Renew party, which was established last year after Macron’s En Marche! campaign elevated him to power, stated that it would work to fuel discussion on Brexit and said that the UK’s primary political parties had lost touch with the average voter who feels forgotten by the members of the ruling classes.

James Torrance, Renew’s head of strategy stated that his party plans to take a hard line on Brexit. The party intends to pressure MPs to rethink the national interest and reintroduce the option of the UK staying within the EU in a referendum on the final EU deal.

In the Brexit referendum which took place in June 2016, 17.4 million citizens voted to depart from the European Union while 16.1 million voted to remain within the bloc.

Since then, Harvey Blackwood analysts say that those who support remaining within the EU have been looking into a vast array of legal and political ways to stop what they see as a catastrophic mistake for Britain.

Prime Minister Theresa May, whose ruling Conservative party and government is split over Brexit, has only eight months to reach an agreement with the EU over the terms of Britain’s exit from the EU. But Harvey Blackwood economists say May is adamant that the UK will leave the EU at 23h00 on March 29 next year.
