Recently scientists have discovered that rats which have become addicted to sugar act the same and have the same brain chemistry as rats addicted to heroin.Processed sugars cause a rise in the insulin level of the blood. This also raises endorphin levels. These sugars cause the body to have a chemical high, mentally, which results in a lift in mood. However, sugar addiction brings additional health risks.

So can't we just stop putting sugar in our tea?
