This week's Top 10 homes spotlight at TopTenRealEstateDeals.com includes a look at the Hamptons home where Truman Capote lived for the last 23 years of his life, and where he wrote In Cold Blood. Four buildings dot the property including an ocean view main house, a two bedroom guest house, 1,900 square foot artist's studio, detached garage and a swimming pool. The main house interior is 3,500 square feet with four bedrooms and four baths. The estate has been restored and expansions have been made by the current artist owner. Mr Capote's home is for sale at $15 million.

In other home news:

Larry Hagman, much beloved for his role of an astronaut in "I Dream of Jeannie" and later as the irreverent oil tycoon and womanizer, J. R. Ewing in "Dallas," grew up in the stage and movie set environment. His mother was Mary Martin of Peter Pan and South Pacific fame. Larry was also a pioneer in the green homes initiative. His California home was the largest solarized home in the country and produced thousands of dollars in extra electrical power that he sold back to the power company. Previously listed in 2009 for $11 million, now priced at $6.495 million.

Good news for the architectural world and fans of Frank Lloyd Wright. His much publicized David and Gladys Wright House in Phoenix has been saved from the wrecking ball. The fate of this one-of-a-kind residential design by the master of modern architecture has pulled at the heartstrings of all Wright enthusiasts since it was discovered that a developer had bought the property with plans of tearing it down. The transaction closed on December 20th for an undisclosed price. The property will be transferred to an Arizona not-for-profit organization responsible for the restoration, maintenance and operation of the David Wright House."
