IEC Apprenticeship Program Earns Students 41 Hours of College Credit

Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) is proud to announce that the 2018 review of its Apprenticeship Program by the American Council on Education (ACE) has recommended 41 semester hours of college credit. The 41 semester hours of credit is an increase from previous reviews.

IEC has partnered with the ACE College Credit Recommendation Service (CREDIT) to connect workplace learning with colleges and universities by helping adults gain access to academic credit for formal courses and examinations taken outside traditional degree programs.

The 2018 review by ACE supports the high caliber IEC Apprentice Program. We are proud to offer our nearly 11,000 apprentices college credits to go along with their four years of hands-on and classroom training.

Paul Dolenc, IEC National Vice President of Training & Education

The ACE CREDIT service periodically evaluates the IEC Electrical Apprenticeship Training Program and makes recommendations on how many hours may be applied as college credit. In conclusion of its 2018 review, ACE recommends that graduates of the IEC program be awarded 41 semester hours of college credit. ACE remarked at the high quality of the content and the delivery methods during the review.

“IEC’s flagship Apprenticeship Program sets the highest standard for electrical training,” said Paul Dolenc, IEC National Vice President of Training & Education. “The 2018 review by ACE supports the high caliber IEC Apprentice Program. We are proud to offer our nearly 11,000 apprentices college credits to go along with their four years of hands-on and classroom training.”
