Jay Graydon comments:
"The title song SCENE 29 on our first album together as JaR, came about as we (Jay and Randy) both enjoy Film Noir movies, so the concept of the song lyric was inspired by "Film Noir" Mystery Crime Dramas of the 1940s (with a comical Laurel and Hardy reference in the choruses). The verbal content of the best mystery movies reflect the "cool lingo" of the era, which formed the lyric outline for the song. The room in which photos were taken for the album cover is the Hat and Hare in the Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. Kerstin did a great job creating the SCENE 29 video using images that note the concept of the song as well as using out-takes of the cover pictures for SCENE 29 creating a montage of movement! Since Randy is the lyricist, Denise (my girlfriend) and I thought through the best of the "One Liners" and wrote down for Randy to digest as to twist around. The final lyric is fun and paints a picture of the dialogue of the era."
