Jeremy Martin Awarded Graduate Master Builder (GMB) Designation
Online, June 9, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Jeremy Martin, of RisherMartin Renovations, became one of the more than 500 professional builders nationwide to attain a Graduate Master Builder (GMB) designation, identifying him as one of the building industry's top professionals. Administered by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Education, the GMB program is sponsored locally by the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin (HBAGA).
To qualify for the GMB certificate program, a builder must have attained the Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) or Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) designation; or have successfully completed three courses and have at least ten years of building business experience. GMB graduates complete an intensive series of five, six-hour courses on business management techniques, and the newest trends and technology in the building industry.
The ultimate symbol of the building professional, the GMB designation is for experienced veterans only. After earning GMB credentials, program graduates are required to maintain their designation through completion of an additional twelve hours of training every three years coupled with participation in approved NAHB-related activities.
ABOUT NAHB: The National Association of Home Builders is a Washington-based trade association representing more than 175,000 members involved in home building, remodeling, multifamily construction, property management, subcontracting, design, housing finance, building product manufacturing and other aspects of residential and light commercial construction. NAHB's builder members will construct 80 percent of the new housing units projected for 2010, making housing one of the largest engines of economic growth in the country.
