Justin Bieber releases more shows for his 2010 "My World" tour
Online, June 10, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Justin Bieber has just released more shows for his 2010 "My World" tour - the new shows run from September 14th to December 23rd, 2010. This will form a second leg for the tour - the first leg begins on June 23 in Hartford, CT and ends up in Allentown, PA on September 4. On the tour, Justin is expected to sing his hit songs including "One Less Lonely Girl", "Somebody to Love" and "Baby".
Island Def Jam's Burnham, whose pop rock single "Catch Me If You Can" will be released on June 28th, has been confirmed as the opening act.
Justin Bieber was born on March 14, 1994 in Ontario, Canada. At age 12 he finished second in an obscure talent contest in his hometown. As a way to share his singing with family, Justin and his mom began posting clips on YouTube of him performing covers of Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Ne-Yo.
Bieber became an overnight success when his debut album My World was released in November 2009. His first single, One Time, went certified platinum in his native Canada shortly after its release. His album matched that success, selling more than 137,000 copies within a week of hitting stores.
Bieber, who now lives and works in Atlanta, is often mobbed by his fans - but he takes it calmly, saying in a recent interview: "I definitely like girls so that's a bonus to have girls all the time. I just have fun with it, I am a teenager and everything's just been a blast."
Bieber's latest album debuted in March at the top of the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling over 283,000 in its first week. This made him the youngest solo male act to top the chart since Stevie Wonder in 1963. Bieber says that he does not have any plans yet for a third album since he is focusing on his tour.
